Newburgh, N.Y. – The top-seeded Mount Saint Mary College Men's Soccer team looks to defend its conference crown as it hosts third seeded United States Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday in the 2018 Skyline Conference Championship match for a chance to represent the league in the NCAA Tournament. Kick-off at Kaplan Field is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. with live stats available for those who cannot attend.
At A Glance: The Knights enter Saturday's final at 13-5-1 and winners of their last four outings, including a 3-0 shutout of Old Westbury in the conference semifinal, in which they are outscoring their opponents 13-3.
Freshman
Connor Doyle (New Windsor, N.Y.) leads the team in goals with eight and was voted the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week on October 15.

Matthew Wyant (Beacon, N.Y.) is the team leader in points with 22, following a goal in Wednesday's semifinal, and is tied with senior
Connor Lynch (Clifton Park, N.Y.), who also scored on Wednesday, for second on the team in goals with seven.
Entering Saturday's contest, Wyant is tied for the conference lead in assists with eight and is fourth in the league in points.
In goal, sophomore
Tyler Rapp (East Berne, N.Y.) has posted eight wins and four shutouts, including a 3-0 shutout on Wednesday, entering the weekend with a .707 save percentage and a 1.34 goals against average.
Last Time Out: The Knights blanked Old Westbury by a score of 3-0. Wyant scored on a free kick, as the eventual game-winner, and Lynch scored off a free kick as well.
Anthony Guglielmo (Setauket, N.Y.) scored a late marker in the 52
nd minute. Rapp made six saves to earn the shutout.
Previewing the Mariners: Merchant Marine is 12-4-2 on the season following a road 2-1 semifinal win over Maritime on Wednesday.
Zach Lysakowski, two-time Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week, leads the scoring attack with nine goals for the year, including the game-winner over Maritime, and 20 points to lead the team. Alex Madonna scored his fifth goal of the season against Maritime, good for second on the team. The Mariners have six players with three goals for the season.
Lysakowski is tied for fifth in the conference in goals, tied for sixth in points, and tied for the conference lead in game-winning goals with five.
Matthew Milner has started all 18 games in goal for the Mariners. He has posted a .818 save percentage, a 0.57 goals against average and has made 45 saves on the season. He has seven clean sheets for Merchant Marine.
Milner leads the conference in goals against average, leads in save percentage, and is tied for second in shutouts.
Regular Season Matchup: The Mount defeated USMMA, 3-1, on the road on October 16.
Wyant led the attack with four points on the night, scoring on a penalty kick to make the deficit 3-0. Lynch got the scoring going for the Knights late in the first half. Doyle picked up three points in the game, scoring in the 63
rd minute. Rapp made four saves for the Mount.
Alex Madonna scored for USMMA in the 77
th minute to cut the deficit to 3-1 late.
Championship History: The Mount looks to defend their crown following a conference championship victory over St. Joseph's-LI, 1-0, a season ago. The Knights are in the Skyline final for the fourth time since 2012 and are searching for their third title. Since 2012, USMMA has won one conference crown in 2016.
