Knights Open Busy Conference Week At Sarah Lawrence

MSMC has won two straight entering Tuesday's road game

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Soccer team continues their Skyline Conference schedule with three upcoming games. First, it will travel to Yonkers to take on Sarah Lawrence at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, followed by a return home to take on Old Westbury on Friday at 7 p.m. The Knights will then hit the road once again to face off against Yeshiva at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday.

At a Glance: The Knights are 6-4 (2-0 Skyline) on the season after two straight victories over St. Joseph's-Brooklyn, 6-0, and a double overtime thriller against Mount Saint Vincent, 1-0.

Matthew Wyant (Beacon, N.Y.) scored the lone goal from the penalty spot to defeat the Dolphins on Saturday. Tyler Rapp posted a shutout for the Mount, only having to make one save in the victory. Following a two goal week, Wyant was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Wyant now leads the team in points with 10 after scoring two goals last week. Connor Doyle (New Windsor, N.Y.) is second with seven.

The three netminders, Tyler Rapp (East Berne, N.Y.), Jakup Myrtja (Ulcinj, Montenegro) and Sean Madden (Islip Terrace, N.Y.), have posted a 1.87 GAA for the season.

A Look At Sarah Lawrence: The Gryphons are 1-8 on the season following a 3-0 shutout loss to Maritime on Friday.

Sarah Lawrence has four players; Colin Berg, Mohamed Camara, Aaron Britton, and Tristan Moehs, with one goal on the season.

Matteo Romano and Aaron Ashery have split the time in net, collectively posting a GAA of 2.67 while making 57 total saves combined.

Scouting Old Westbury: The Panthers are 4-4-2 this season after a 1-1 draw against Purchase on Saturday. They will host St. Joseph's-Li on Tuesday before taking on the Mount on Friday.

Edens Avril leads the team in goals with seven and points with 14. Peter Young has three goals and Nick Gino has two to balance the scoring attack.

Mike Warren has started all ten games in goal, posting a 0.93 GAA and making 32 saves for Old Westbury.

Previewing Yeshiva: The Maccabees are 4-3 to start the season following a 3-2 loss to Maritime on Thursday, September 20. They will travel to Mount Saint Vincent on Friday before hosting the Mount on Sunday.

Jonah Beberman leads the attack with 16 points (8 goals) and Alberto Benhamu is second with seven (3 goals and 1 assist).

Edgar Schottland has started all seven games in net, posting a 1.58 GAA and making 45 saves for the season.

What's Next: The Knights travel to Throggs Neck to take on Maritime on Wednesday, October 10. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
