Women’s Soccer Set To Tussle With John Jay, Sarah Lawrence

Knights are winners of last three outings

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Soccer team looks to extend a three game winning streak with a pair of games this week. The Knights close out a four game home stand on Thursday against John Jay before taking to the road for a Skyline Conference tilt at Sarah Lawrence on Sunday evening.
 
At A Glance: Following three straight victories, Mount Saint Mary stands at 6-2-1 overall on the season and a perfect 4-0 in home games. The Mount is outscoring its opponents 37-2 in its home games entering Thursday and 43-10 overall.
 
The Knights feature 12 different players with a goal through nine games and 16 players with a point. Senior Bridget McKeever (Wallkill, N.Y.) paces the team in goals (10), assists (6) and points (26), while classmate Destiny Ribadeneyra (Maybrook, N.Y.) has amassed 23 points on the strength of nine goals and five assists.
 
Allison Jones (Merrick, N.Y.) has totaled five goals and a pair of assists with Mary Riley (Newburgh, N.Y.), Jessica Lanning (Hicksville, N.Y.) and Theresa Stinson (Troy, N.Y.) all standing with four goals apiece on the season.
 
Riley has started all nine games in goal for the Knights and holds a 1.38 goals against average and a 38 saves and a .792 save percentage. She has earned the decision in each of the team's nine games and has posted a single shutout.
 
Mount Saint Mary ranks second in the Skyline Conference in scoring average and leads the league in goals for heading into Thursday's contest. The Knights lead the league in opponent's scoring average and scoring margin.
 
Individually, McKeever ranks second in the league in assists, third in points and tied for third in goals, while Ribadeneyra sits tied for third in assists and fifth in both goals and points. Riley ranks fifth in save percentage and ninth in saves heading into Thursday.
 
Last Time Out: The Knights set a program record for goals in a game with a 13-0 win over Pratt on Sunday. Lanning, McKeever and Riley all recorded hat trick, with Riley and McKeever finishing the day with eight points each.
 
Weekly Honors: Following a 15 points week, McKeever was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week on Monday and the ECAC Division III Metro Division Player of the Week on Tuesday.
 
A Look At John Jay: The Bloodhounds enter Thursday's contest at 5-4 and are coming off a 2-0 loss to the College of Mount Saint Vincent on Monday. John Jay was outshot 23-7 in the game, including 17-3 in shots on goal.
 
Kimberly Robledo paces the team with 11 goals and 22 points, while Camila Vasquez has posted 16 points on the strength of seven tallies and a pair of helpers. Jaime Bilotti and Kelli Doherty have each registered three goals for the Bloodhounds.
 
In goal, Doherty has played 405:00 of a possible 810:00 and has made 21 saves. Erika Estro has made a team-high 23 stops in net and holds a .793 save percentage.
 
Scouting Sarah Lawrence: The Gryphons stand at 3-4-1 overall and 2-2-0 in conference play following a 2-0 loss to Purchase on Wednesday. Purchase finished with the edge in shots 26-9 and corner kicks 5-4.
 
Through eight games, Lauren Ashby paces the Gryphons in goals with 13 and points with 30, while Sydney Crain leads the team with five assists. Madison Mertsch has seen the bulk of action in goal, recording 42 saves and a .750 save percentage.
 
Ashby is tied for the Skyline Conference lead in goals and ranks second in points. Crain enters the weekend tied for third in the conference in assists.
 
What's Next: Following Sunday's road game, the Knights will play back-to-back home league contests when they welcome Mount Saint Vincent (10/3) and St. Joseph's-L.I. (10/7) to Newburgh.
