Women’s Basketball Hits The Road To Take On Yeshiva University

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary Women's Basketball team travels to New York, N.Y. to take on Yeshiva University in a Skyline Conference matchup that is scheduled to tip-off at 8 p.m. at John Jay College. Live stats will be available for those who are unable to attend the game.

A Look At The Knights: The Knights come into this game with an overall record of 14-4 and have a conference record of 10-2. They are currently on a two game winning streak, with those wins coming against Purchase College and St. Joseph's College – LI. Junior forward Jessica Rini (Seaford, N.Y.), who was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week on Monday, is the team's leading scoring as she is averaging 11.9 ppg. Sophomore center Kayla Cleare (West Hempstead, N.Y.) leads the team in rebounds (10.2 rpg) and blocks (1.1 bpg). Sophomore guard Megan Kerutis (Merrimack, N.H.) is averaging 2.4 apg, and junior guard Bridget Kelly (Farmington, Conn.) is averaging 1.8 spg.

Scouting Yeshiva: The Maccabees come into this game with an overall record of 2-14, and have a conference record of 0-11. They are currently on a 13 game losing streak. Junior forward Michal Alge leads the team in scoring (15.2 ppg) and in rebounds (12.9 rpg). Senior forward Tess Blaustein is the team leader in assists (2.8 apg) and steals (2.4 spg). Classmate Simee Rosner is pacing the team in blocks with 1.2 bpg.

History Between The Teams: Since the start of the 2007-2008 season, the Knights have a record of 12-0 against the Maccabees. These two teams met earlier in the season which saw the Knights come away with a 57-36 victory.

What's Next: After their game against the Maccabees, the Knights will host the College of Mount Saint Vincent in a Skyline conference matchup on Saturday, Feb. 4 that is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
