Gerard Nocera (Holmdel, N.J.) added 20 points as the Mount Saint Mary College Men's Basketball team closed the 2016-17 season with a 75-57 road win at Sarah Lawrence Saturday afternoon.
Following a back-and-forth start to the contest, Mount Saint Mary jumped out to a nine point lead on a Nocera lay-up with 7:10 left before halftime. The Knights held Sarah Lawrence to 10 points over the final 12:02 of the first half and gained its largest lead of the half, the 38-28 halftime advantage, following a Nocera lay-up at the buzzer.
Nocera went a perfect 6-for-6 from the floor in the opening 20 minutes and led the Knights with 13 points at the break. McDine finished the first stanza 4-for-5 for the Knights on his way to nine points as the Mount shot an even 50-percent from the floor before halftime.
The Mount extended its lead to 41-28 early in the second half on McDine's second triple of the game and did not all the Gryphons closer than seven points the remainder of the contest. A

Andrew Holmes (Niskayuna, N.Y.) lay-in capped a 17-2 run with 11:29 left to play.
The Knights shot nearly 43-percent in the second half to extend its halftime advantage and held Sarah Lawrence to only eight second half field goals. McDine went 5-for-6 from the floor and 5-for-5 from three-point range after halftime on his way to scoring 15 of his career-high point total in the second half.
The six triples for McDine is a new career-high and the point total eclipses his previous career mark of 22 which he scored on December 5, 2015 against Mount Saint Vincent. He went 9-for-11 overall on Saturday adding four rebounds and four assists for the Knights.
Nocera reached 20 points for the seventh time this season with his output on Saturday. He went 8-for-13 from the floor, adding six rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals. Holmes also netted a career-high in scoring with 12 points off the bench, with senior
Owen Heath (Jamestown, R.I) chipping in with five points and a career-high nine rebounds.
Graham Gilleran led Sarah Lawrence with 18 points, including the 1,000
th point of his career, with Jeff Jordan adding 11 points. B.J. Sanders finished with a game-high 10 rebounds for the Gryphons.
The Knights finished the game shooting 46.8-percent from the floor, its second highest percentage of the season, and an even 50-percent with 10 makes from three-point range. The Mount defense held Sarah Lawrence to 34-percent shooting and forced 18 turnovers leading to 25 points.
Saturday's win closes the Mount's season at 12-12 overall and 7-9 in Skyline Conference play.
