Knights Roll To Third Straight Victory

Hellpap nets 14 points, Limonta posts double-double

Newburgh, N.Y. – Sophomore Jordyn Hellpap (Hackensack, N.J.) led three players in double-figures with 14 points and junior Elizabeth Limonta (Stewart Manor, N.Y.) recorded her first double-double of the season as the Mount Saint Mary College Women's Basketball team won its third straight contest with a 74-27 home Skyline Conference win over Yeshiva Tuesday night.

The Mount controlled the game from the start, opening play with a 10-0 run over the first 5:44 of the contest. The Knights held Yeshiva off the board until the 5:19 mark of the opening period and closed the frame with 11 of the final 16 points to gain a 21-7 advantage after 10 minutes of play.

Janae Graham (Orange, Conn.) opened the second quarter scoring with a three-pointer 1:05 into the frame and the Mount held Yeshiva to 2-for-15 shooting on its way to a 40-11 lead at the intermission. Hellpap knocked down a pair of three-point field goals in the second stanza and led all scorers at the break with 12 points.

Mount Saint Mary shot 44.4-percent overall over the opening 20 minutes and shot a blistering 55.6-percent from bonus distance, canning five of its nine three-point attempts. Hellpap went 3-for-6 from three-point range prior to halftime and was one of nine different players to find the scoring column for the Knights in the first half.

Coming out of halftime the Mount outscored Yeshiva 17-7 in the third quarter and allowed only three Maccabee field goals before putting the game away with 17 more points in the fourth frame. Graham went 2-for-2 from distance in the fourth period, scoring eight points, with Morina Bojka (Prospect, Conn.) adding five points in the final 10 minutes.

The Knights finished the night with a season-high nine three-point field goals and led for all but the opening 25 seconds of the contest. The Mount closed the night with a 13-3 advantage in points off of turnovers and a 28-12 edge in paint points.
