Newburgh, N.Y. – After playing six of its last seven games at home, the Mount Saint Mary College Women's Soccer team opens a season-long five game road trip on Wednesday night at St. Joseph's-Brooklyn and continues the swing on Saturday afternoon at Purchase.
At A Glance: The Knights are on a current seven game winning streak and have not allowed a goal since September 23. The Mount holds a 10-2-1 overall record and a 4-0-0 mark in league play and have not dropped a decision since a 2-0 loss at New York University on September 16.
Mount Saint Mary features five players with at least 10 points on the season, led by 32 apiece from seniors
Bridget McKeever (Wallkill, N.Y.) and
Destiny Ribadeneyra (Maybrook, N.Y.). McKeever paces the team with 12 goals and has added eight assists, while Ribadeneyra leads the team with 10 assists and has potted 11 goals, including a team-high four game winners.
Senior
Allison Jones (Merrick, N.Y.) supports the offensive attack with seven goals and 18 points with
Jessica Lanning (Hicksville, N.Y.) adding five goals and
Mary Riley (Newburgh, N.Y.) totaling four.
Claire Newman (Cromwell, Conn.) has added three assists for the Knights heading into Wednesday's tilt.
In goal, Riley has started 12 games and posted four shutouts for the Knights. She holds a 0.97 goals against average, including a 0.39 mark in conference play, to go along with an .818 save percentage and 45 saves. Riley leads the Skyline Conference in goals against average and ranks third in save percentage.
McKeever and Ribadeneyra rank fourth and fifth in the conference in goals and tied for third in the league in points. Ribadeneyra paces the conference in assists and is in a three-way tie for first in the league in game winning goals.
Scouting St. Joseph's: The Lady Bears have won two of their last three outings heading into Wednesday's game and stand at 6-4 overall and an even 2-2 in conference play. The Lady Bears are coming off a 3-2 win at Old Westbury in which Deserae Sequeira tallied two goals and added an assist.
Sequeira enters the game on Wednesday with team-highs in goals (15), assists (8) and points (38), while Anisah Molic has chipped in with 10 goals, five helpers and 25 points. Sequeira leads the conference in goals and points, is tied for the league lead in game winning tallies and sits second in assists.
In goal, Lauren Quesada leads the team with 65 saves and has produced a .812 save percentage and a 1.88 goals against average. She ranks third in the conference in saves and fourth in the league in save percentage.
Previewing Purchase: The Panthers enter a Wednesday game with the College of Mount Saint Vincent at 4-6 overall on the season and 2-2 in league play. Purchase had a three game winning streak stopped with a 6-1 loss to Farmingdale State on October 5.
Cerissa DiValentino holds the team lead in goals entering the week with nine, assists with 3 and points with 21. Brett Robison has contributed six markers and 13 points to the Panthers' offensive attack.
Amber Yarter has played 720:00 of a possible 900:00 in goal for Purchase and has made 61 saves. She holds a 2.00 goals against average and a .792 save percentage heading into Wednesday's tilt with the Dolphins.
