Queens, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Tennis team returned to action on Tuesday night and suffered a 6-2 Skyline Conference loss on the road at Yeshiva. Freshman
Michelle Carnovale (Massapequa, N.Y.) continued her unbeaten start to the season at first singles against the Maccabees.
Carnovale moved to 9-0 on the season with yet another victory for the Knights at the top singles position. She opened the match by cruising to a 6-0 first set victory before dropping the second frame 4-6. Her opponent retired with Carnovale winning in the third to give the rookie her team leading ninth singles win of the year.

Alissa Gileau (East Granby, Conn.) were also victorious on Tuesday, scoring a hard fought 8-6 win over the top duo for Yeshiva. Carnovale and GIleau have been pair on each of the Mount's nine matches this season and have posted a 6-3 record for the Knights.
Tuesday's loss drops Mount Saint Mary to 3-6 overall on the season and to 2-2 in Skyline Conference play. Next up for the Knights is a non-conference home match against Lehman on Thursday. Match time with the Lightning is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
