Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Volleyball will look to keep a nine match winning streak alive against Bard when it hosts the Raptors in a bout that will start at 7 p.m Wednesday night. Live stats will be available for those who can't attend the match.
A Look at The Knights: MSMC comes into Wednesday's tilt having lost six in a row and have a record of 1-8 overall. Senior outside hitter
Rachel Sabatini (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) leads the team with 48 kills through the first nine contests. Senior setter
Kristen Maddock (Medford, N.Y.) has recorded 166 assists through thus far and junior libero
Julimar Figueroa (Dorado, Puerto Rico) leads the way with 48 digs on the season. Freshman middle blocker
Morgan Burke (Ringwood, N.J.) has recorded 15 total blocks.
Scouting Bard: Bard comes into this game with a record of 2-5, with both wins coming within the last three games. Sophomore outside hitter Sophia Koukia has recorded 73 kills on the season. Sophomore setter Victoria Chou has dished out 73 assists. Freshman libero/defensive specialist Emily Anastasi has recorded 63 digs and junior middle blocker Alexis Akingbade has set the pace with 12 blocks on the season.
History: Since the start of the 2007 season, the two sides have met nine times and the Knights have walked away with a record of 9-0. The last meeting between the two was on Oct. 14, 2015 and the Knights won 3-1. Sabatini recorded nine kills and Maddock finished the game with 17 assists.
What's Next: After their meeting with Bard, the Knights will hit the road to Mahwah, N.J. where they will participate in the Roadrunner Invitational this weekend at Ramapo College. Friday they will face New Paltz and Hunter College and on Saturday they will play against Ramapo and Farleigh Dickinson University – Florham.
