Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Basketball team puts its seven game winning streak on the line Saturday afternoon when it welcomes Western Connecticut to the Kaplan Center. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m. with Live Stats available for those who cannot attend the game.
At A Glance: With a 57-36 Skyline Conference win over Yeshiva on Sunday that pushed the Mount to 7-0 on the season, the Knights matched the program's longest winning streak to start a season, equaling the 7-0 start by the 1999-2000 team that finished 21-7 overall.
Jessica Rini (Seaford, N.Y.) finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds against the Maccabees, while Bridget Kelley (Farmington, Conn.) came off the bench to finish with 11 points on 5-for-6 shooting. Sophomore

Through the season's first seven games, the Knights have three players averaging in double-figures in scoring, led by 11.9 points per game from Cleare. Sophomore
Megan Kerutis (Merrimack, N.H.) is good for 11.1 points per game and is leading the team in assists with 21. Rini is contributing 10.5 points per game, while Kelly and
Jordyn Hellpap (Hackensack, N.J.) are posting 9.6 and 8.3 points per game, respectively.
In addition to leading the team in scoring, Cleare is tops on the team with 11.0 rebounds per game and is shooting an efficient 51.6-percent from the floor. Hellpap has canned a team-high 14 three-pointers and also paces the team in steals with 13.
As a team, the Mount is averaging 65.3 points per game and is outscoring its opponents by over 24 points per outing. The Knights are converting at 42.6-percent from the floor as a unit, the most efficient mark in the Skyline Conference.
A Look At Western Connecticut: The Colonials come calling on Saturday with a 5-3 overall record and are coming off an impressive 75-35 Little East victory at the University of Southern Maine, collecting their fourth straight win. Jancy Sherwood led the offensive attack with 16 points as the team shot 49.1-percent from the field and knocked in 10 three-pointers. The Colonials held the Huskies to 26.4-percent shooting in the game and a 1-for-13 effort from behind the arc.
Sherwood leads the team in scoring through eight games with 11.9 points per game, with Kaitlyn Labonte chipping in with just over 10 points per outing. Alecia Dulaire is hauling in over eight rebounds per game to lead the team, while Gabrielle Hurlbert is handing out nearly four assists per game for Western Connecticut.
As a team, the Colonials are averaging 65.0 points per game and are shooting 37.9-percent overall from the floor and 30.7-percent from three-point range.
Recent History: The two teams have met five times since the start of the 2007-08 season, but have not played since a 60-39 Western Connecticut victory in Danbury on November 20, 2013. The Knights hold a 3-2 record over those five contests, with their last win coming on December 6, 2011, topping the Colonials 60-58.
What's Next: Following Saturday's contest, the Knights will head south to play two games at the Daytona Beach Shootout on December 20 and 21. The Knights will tussle with Cabrini to open the tournament and finish play with Babson. Both games will tip-off at 4:00 p.m.
