Knights Set To Battle It Out With Dolphins In Midweek Matchup

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary Women's Soccer team travels to Riverdale, N.Y. to take on conference rival College of Mount Saint Vincent at 4 p.m. Live stats will be available for those who are unable to attend the game.

A Look At The Knights: The Knights come into this game with a record of 5-8, and are coming off a 2-1 win against St. Joseph's College-LI. Junior midfielder Emily Scheuer (North Babylon, N.Y.) leads the team with five goals and is one of six players on the team with at least four goals this season. Junior midfielder Destiny Ribadeneyra (Maybrook, N.Y.) has nine assists on the season and is tied with classmate Bridget McKeever (Wallkill, N.Y.) for the team-high in points with 13. McKeever and junior midfielder Allsion Jones (Merrick, N.Y.) have both taken 39 shots to lead the Mount. Junior goalkeeper Mary Riley (Newburgh, N.Y.) has made 53 saves for a .671 save percentage.

Scouting The Dolphins: The Dolphins come into this game with a record of 9-5, and are currently on a two game winning streak. Junior midfielder Julia McGowan leads the team in goals (13), points (29) and shots (59). Junior forward Kelly Gibson leads the team with seven assists. Junior goalkeeper Elizabeth Martin has made 64 saves for a .753 save percentage.

History Between The Teams: Since the start of the 2007 season, the Knights have never lost to the Dolphins as they have a record of 10-0 against them; including two wins last season with one of them being in the Skyline Conference tournament.

What's Next: After their midweek battle with the Dolphins, the Knights will host Old Westbury on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 12 p.m, and then will host William Smith College, the top ranked team in the country, on Oct. 23 at 1 p.m.
