Box Score Delhi, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Volleyball team returned to action on Thursday night with a 25-18, 25-13, 25-16 straight set victory over SUNY Delhi. Freshman
Morgan Burke (Ringwood, N.Y.) led the offensive attack with a match-high 10 kills for the Knights.
Burke led all players in kills on Thursday and missed her career-high in the category by one, while hitting .278 in the match. She closed out a strong night with four total blocks, including two solos to move her team lead in the category to 54.
Junior
Megan Williams (Glenmont, N.Y.) rounded out a solid night with eight kills, hitting .400 for the Knights in 15 attempts. She produced a pair of blocks for the Mount in the match.
Madelyn Barberan (Fishkill, N.Y.) finished the contest with four kills, with
Angelia Cirigliano (Newburgh, N.Y.) and
Jackie Survilla (West Islip, N.Y.) each adding three.
Senior
Kristen Maddock (Medford, N.Y.) paced all players in the match with 20 assists and produced eight of the team's 15 service aces. Barberan and
Julimar Figueroa (Dorado, Puerto Rico) each posted a pair of aces for the Knights.
Mount Saint Mary finished the match with a 31-12 advantage in kills and a 15-2 edge in service aces. The Knights also won the blocking battle 5-3 on Thursday.
The win over the Broncos moves the Mount to 10-13 overall on the season. Next up for the Knights is a pair of Skyline Conference matches on Saturday when they travel to Purchase to take on the Panthers and Farmingdale State.
