St. Joseph's Box Score Plattsburgh Box Score Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary Women's Tennis team played a pair of matches this weekend, topping league rival St. Joseph's-Brooklyn 8-1 on Saturday, before falling by the same score to Plattsburgh on Sunday afternoon. Freshman
Mikayla Zaccaria (Point Lookout, N.Y.) won at sixth singles in both matches for the Knights.
In Saturday's match with the Lady Bears, Zaccaria won her match by a score of 6-0, 6-0 and also teamed with
Mallory Menneci (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) at third doubles to post an 8-0 victory. On Sunday, Zaccaria won the Knights' only point of the day with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph in singles action.
The Knights fell in just one match on Saturday, securing all three doubles points against the Lady Bears. Senior
Breanna Scott (Highland Falls, N.Y.) scored a 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) win at first singles and teamed with
Katie Conroy (Middletown, N.Y.) for a 8-4 victory at the top doubles position. Conroy went on to win at fifth singles 6-2, 6-1.
Isabella Tartaglione (Pine Bush, N.Y.) teamed with
Alissa Gileau (East Granby, Conn.) for an 8-3 win at second doubles, with Gileau adding a 6-0, 6-1 third singles win.
Ellen Hendricks (West Point, N.Y.) also posted a singles win, coming away with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at the fourth position against the Lady Bears.
With the weekend split, Mount Saint Mary 2-4 overall and at 1-2 in Skyline Conference play. Next up for the Knights is a non-conference road match at New Paltz on October 2. Match time is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
