NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on the final day of the Hawks Invitational, hosted by SUNY New Paltz, Saturday at the Hawk Center. The Knights fell to host New Paltz in the opener, 3-0 (25-13, 25-11, 26-24), and then closed out the weekend with a 3-1 (25-15, 25-27, 25-22, 25-20) loss to New York University. The pair of losses drop the Knights to 0-8 on the season.

Jennifer Gries (Hicksville, N.Y.) had an impressive weekend, and was rewarded for her efforts by being named to the Hawks Invitational All-Tournament Team.
Five different Knights tallied three kills in the in the opener against New Paltz on Saturday, led by sophomore outside hitter
Jacquelyn Survilla (West Islip, N.Y.), who hit .750 in the match.
Jennifer Gries picked up a match-high 23 digs.
Four Knights scored seven-or-more kills in the closer against NYU. Freshman middle blocker
Jennifer Hanley (Sayville, N.Y.) threw down a season-high nine kills, freshman outside hitter
Nicole Spinelli's (Wantagh, N.Y.) eight kills were also a season-high, and junior outside hitter
Rachel Sabatini (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) and sophomore right side
Megan Williams (Glenmont, N.Y.) matched with seven kills. Freshman setter Kim Gries (Hicksville, N.Y.) dished out a season-best 30 assists.
Jennifer Gries picked up another 21 digs.
The Knights will next see action on Wednesday, Sept. 16, when they head to Mahwah, N.J. for a match against Ramapo College. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
