UNION, N.J. – The Mount Saint Mary College men's lacrosse team's (5-10, 2-4 Skyline) season concluded on Saturday, as the Knights fell to Kean University (9-7, 4-2 Skyline), 21-6, in Skyline Conference action at Kean Alumni Stadium. The loss eliminates the Knights from contention for the Skyline Conference Championships.
The Knights hung tight early on in Saturday's matchup, trailing just 4-2 after the first quarter. The Cougars then turned up the heat, scoring eight goals in the second quarter while allowing none for the Knights to take a significant 12-2 lead into the break.
The Knights were able to score twice in the third frame, but Kean kept its momentum rolling with five more scores to take a 17-4 lead heading into the final period. It was much of the same in the fourth, as the Cougars took a 4-2 advantage in the quarter for the 21-6 final.
Maxwell Fields earned the win for the Cougars, stopping 11 shots and allowing just four goals in 51:46 between the pipes. Freshman netminder
Christopher Doerr (Pleasantville, N.Y.) stopped seven shots in 36:38, but allowed 13 goals to suffer the loss.
Jeff Christiano and Anthony Perrotta each scored three goals and tallied two assists, while Anthony Carpenter matched their five-point efforts with three assists and two scores. Mike Criscitello scooped up an impressive 13 ground balls, and went 14-of-17 on face-offs for the Cougars.

Dylan De Meo (Franklin Square, N.Y.) each scored once and assisted another for matching two-point afternoons. Freshman attackman
Tristan Earle (Milford, Pa.) and sophomore attackman
Kenneth Atkins (Wallkill, N.Y.) netted the other two goals for the Knights.
The Knights' season ends with Saturday's loss to Kean. The Knights went 2-4 against the Skyline Conference this season, winning two conference games for only the second time in program history.
