HAVERFORD, Pa. – In its yearly matchup with head coach
Eric Seideman's alma mater, the Mount Saint Mary College men's lacrosse team (1-1) fell to Haverford College (1-2), 18-6, Wednesday afternoon at Swan Field.
Haverford's Alejandro Vega opened the game's scoring just over five minutes into the contest. Freshman midfielder
Danny Kugler (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) tied the game 93 seconds later with his fourth of the year, but Haverford then went on a six-goal streak that carried into the second quarter.

Tristan Earle (Milford, Pa.) got the Knights back on the board with 7:21 to play in the first half. Haverford scored three more goals before the quarter ended to take a 9-2 lead into halftime.
Freshmen
Kenneth Gallagher (Northport, N.Y.) and
Dylan De Meo (Franklin Square, N.Y.) each scored in the middle of the third quarter, but Haverford notched five more in the period to head into the fourth with a 14-4 advantage. De Meo scored again to open the final frame, but the Fords then put four straight into the net. Sophomore attackman
Kenneth Atkins (Wallkill, N.Y.) tallied the last goal of the game with 2:28 to play, but the damage was already done as the Knights still trailed by 12.
Eric Caliendo made 11 saves to pick up the win for Haverford on Wednesday. Freshman goalkeeper
Christopher Doerr (Pleasantville, N.Y.) made 13 stops, but allowed 15 goals in 50:23 after drawing his second start of the season.
Geoff Geppert led the way for the Fords with five goals and six ground balls on the afternoon. Richard Greenberg totaled four points on three goals and an assist, while Isaac Krier also reached four points with two scores and two helpers.
De Meo turned in a four-point effort to lead the Knights, scoring twice and assisted two more. Earle picked up one goal and a pair of assists for a three-point afternoon. Earle and Kugler tied for the team lead with four ground balls.
Haverford came out firing and outshot the Knights, 54-24. The Fords also held a 45-27 advantage in ground balls. The Knights succeeded on 8-of-9 clear attempts, while the Fords completed 9-of-13.
The Knights return home to take on Gwynedd Mercy University on Saturday, March 7 at Kaplan Field. The opening faceoff is slated for 1 p.m.
