Breanna Scott (Highland Falls, N.Y.) picked up the team's lone win in the match.
Scott moved to 6-4 overall on the season and to 5-1 against Skyline Conference opponents with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at first singles against the Golden Eagles. She won her third straight singles match overall and won for the fourth straight time against a conference opponent with her victory.
Mount Saint Mary also received strong efforts from
Ellen Hendricks (West Point, N.Y.) at third singles and the duo of
Mallory Menneci (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and
Mikayla Zaccaria (Point Lookout, N.Y.) who dropped a hard fought 8-5 decision at third doubles.
Thursday's loss drops Mount Saint Mary to 3-7 overall and to 2-4 against Skyline Conference opponents. Next up for the Knights is a home non-conference match against Brooklyn on Friday. Match time in Newburgh is set for 5:30 p.m.
