Match ResultsNEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's tennis team (1-3) was shut out by Ramapo College (7-1), 9-0, Friday evening on the Mount Saint Mary College Tennis Courts.
The Knights fell into an early hole, dropping all three doubles matches to go down, 3-0, in the match. Junior
Ellen Hendricks (West Point, N.Y.) and freshman
Mallory Menneci (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) played competitively with Micala Demchak and Ivy Schuckman in third doubles, but ultimately fell, 8-3.
The bad luck continued for the Knights in singles play, as they fell in each of the six individual matches. Junior
Breanna Scott (Highland Falls, N.Y.) played well in the No. 1 singles match against Carly Agrifolio, taking the first set, 6-3. However, Agrifolio bounced back to take the second game, 6-3, and then the tiebreaker third set, 10-4.
The Knights will look to bounce back on Sunday, Sept. 21, when they host Purchase College in a Skyline Conference matchup on the Mount Saint Mary College Tennis Courts. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
