BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's volleyball team (10-14) picked up a quick 3-0 (25-10, 25-20, 25-7) shutout victory over Medgar Evers College (3-16) Tuesday evening at Cougars Cave.
The Knights hit a stellar .329 in the match, led by sophomore outside hitter
Elizabeth Lavin (Hicksville, N.Y.) who hit a phenomenal .857 in the match, scoring six kills in seven total attacks. She also served up a team-high five aces. Junior right side
Maribeth Powers (Yorktown, N.Y.) led the Knights with seven kills, and freshman outside hitter
Jackie Survilla (West Islip, N.Y.) added five kills to help fuel the Knights to victory.
The Knights kick off Skyline Conference play on Saturday, Oct. 11, when they host a Skyline tri-match with Maritime College and St. Joseph's College (L.I.). The first match of the day is set to begin at 11 a.m.
