PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's tennis team (3-9, 0-6 Skyline) concluded the Skyline Conference portion of its schedule on Monday, falling to St. Joseph's College (L.I.) (7-2, 4-0 Skyline), 8-1, at the St. Joseph's College Outdoor Complex.
The Knights were swept in doubles play by the Golden Eagles. Juniors
Breanna Scott (Highland Falls, N.Y.) and
Katie Conroy (Middletown, N.Y.) played the closest match, but fell in No. 1 doubles to Shannon Merker and Kelley McGrath, 8-3.
Scott got some vengeance in singles play, defeating Merker at No. 1 singles in a match that needed a tiebreaker by the score of 3-6, 6-2, 14-12. The Knights were defeating in the other five singles matches to suffer the 8-1 loss.
Monday's match was the final Skyline Conference contest of the 2014 season for the Knights. While this was their last-scheduled match, they may reschedule a previously postponed match before the fall season ends.
