FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's tennis team (3-8, 0-5 Skyline) was shutout, 9-0, by the defending Skyline Conference champion Farmingdale State College (9-1, 4-0 Skyline) Saturday afternoon.
Juniors
Breanna Scott (Highland Falls, N.Y.) and
Katie Conroy (Middletown, N.Y.) fell to Jessica Sickles and Alex Bentz at No. 1 doubles, 8-1. In flight two, sophomore
Isabella Tartaglione (Pine Bush, N.Y.) and freshman
Rebecca Tortora (Wolcott, Conn.) dropped an 8-0 decision to Priscilla Signore and Tatiana Rosamilia. The third doubles team of junior
Ellen Hendricks (West Point, N.Y.) and freshman
Mallory Menneci (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) fell by a score of 8-0 to Michelle Fredericks and Denise Liguori.
Scott dropped her No. 1 singles match to Sickles, 6-1, 6-1, while Tortora fell to Signore at No. 2, 6-0, 6-0. Tartaglione lost 6-0, 6-0 to Bentz at No. 3 singles, while freshman
Carolina Molina (West Hempstead, N.Y.) was defeated by Fredericks at fourth singles by the same score. Conroy also fell, 6-0, 6-0, to Rosamilia at No. 5 singles, and Hendricks fell 6-0, 6-1 at flight six to Amanda Vecchio.
The Knights conclude Skyline play on Monday, Oct. 13, when they travel to Patchogue, N.Y. to take on St. Joseph's College (L.I.). The match is set to begin at 4 p.m.
