Box Score

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Senior forward Rachel Perrone (Poughquag, N.Y.) stayed red hot on Monday, posting her third straight double-double and fourth straight 20-point game, as the Mount Saint Mary College women's basketball team (2-14) dropped a non-conference matchup at Brooklyn College (13-5) by the score of 67-57.

Perrone strung together 20 points and 14 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season. She is averaging 20.8 points and 13 rebounds per game the Knights' last four contests and now leads the team with 14.1 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.

The Knights looked strong in the early portion of the game, leading by as many as eight points with four minutes left until the break. A 14-3 run to close out the half by the host Bulldogs gave Brooklyn a three-point lead at 29-26 going into the locker room.

Brooklyn pushed its lead to as many as 11 points early in the second frame before the Knights started to chip away. Six different Knights scored as the Knights cut the deficit to a point at 49-48, but a mini run by the home team gave it a comfortable lead once again down the stretch. The Bulldogs hung onto their lead with 12 successful free throws in the final two minutes to close out Monday's contest.

Megan Campbell led the Bulldogs with 15 points and a game-high 17 rebounds. Sarah Shanderson followed with 13 points, while Asia Foster pulled down 10 rebounds.

Senior forward Jessica Perrone  (Poughquag, N.Y.) banked 13 points on the evening, while junior guard Lauren Romao (Brick, N.J.) dished out a team-high six assists.

The Knights outshot their hosts in a poor shooting effort for both teams. The visitors made 18-of-61 shots (29.5 percent), while the Bulldogs made 19-of-71 (26.8 percent). The Bulldogs pulled down 62 rebounds compared to 40 for the Knights.

The Knights return to action on Thursday, Jan. 30, when they travel down to Purchase College for a Skyline Conference matchup with the Panthers. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
