CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's tennis team (1-5, 0-1 Skyline) suffered a 9-0 shutout loss at SUNY Cortland (2-5) on Sunday in non-conference action.

The Red Dragons jumped out to a quick start, taking all three doubles matches. Senior Jaimee Ludniewski (Middletown, N.Y.) and junior Alissa Niad (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) put up a strong fight at the top flight, but ultimately fell to Shannon Grodotzke and Dilara Kumbul, 8-3.

In singles play, Lubniewski took a 7-6 win in the first set before ultimately retiring to take the loss at the top flight.

The Knights take on their second-straight State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) opponent on Friday, Oct. 4, when they take a short trip over to SUNY New Paltz to take on the Hawks. The match is set to begin at 5:30 p.m.
