MAHWAH, N.J. - Showing signs of improvement, the Mount Saint Mary College women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Ramapo College on Tuesday evening to fall to 0-2 on the year.
Senior
Jaimee Lubniewski (Middletown, N.Y.) and junior
Alissa Niad (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) went down to the wire at first doubles, but ultimately lost an 8-6 decision. Sophomore
Ellen Hendricks (West Point, N.Y.) and junior
Sarah Pimienta (Wurtsboro, N.Y.) also played well in an 8-2 loss at third doubles.
Lubniewski continued to show well at the top of the lineup, but lost her match by a final score of 6-2, 6-4. Sophomore
Breanna Scott (Highland Falls, N.Y.) also put up a fight, but dropped her match 6-2, 7-5 at fourth singles.
The Knights open up Skyline Conference play on Saturday with a trip to Sage. The match is set for a 1:00 p.m. start.
