NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's basketball team (0-4) dropped an 88-72 decision to Norwich University (2-2), on Saturday afternoon.
The Knights led just once in Saturday's contest. The Cadets took the lead back with 12:43 remaining in the first half and never looked back.
Norwich was led by Aliah Curry's 24 points, the game high. Teammate Kelsey Lotti recorded 20 points and Kristin Brown dished out nine assists. Erin Clark and Heather LeBlanc each grabbed nine rebounds.
The Knights were led by the Perrone sisters, who each scored 22 points on the afternoon. Senior forward
Jessica Perrone (Poughquag, N.Y.) pulled down 11 rebounds to lead the Mount and pick up her first double-double of the season. Junior guard
Lauren Romao (Brick, N.J.) also contributed 10 points, while junior forward
Natalie Candarelli (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) had three assists for the Knights.
The Cadets shot 43 percent from the field, while the Knights shot 41.4 percent. Norwich out rebounded the Mount 47-36 and held a 26-17 advantage in second-chance points.
The Knights return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 26, when they host Hudson Valley rival SUNY New Paltz. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. from the Kaplan Center.
