NEWBURGH, N.Y.- The Mount Saint Mary College women's soccer team (8-4-0, Skyline 3-0-0) defeated King's College (Pa.) (6-4-1), 2-0, on Wednesday evening at Kaplan Field.
The game remained scoreless until the 60th minute of play when junior defender
Marissa Segreto (West Islip, N.Y.) crossed the ball from the left, finding freshman defender Alaina Nedderman (Prospect, Conn.) in front of the goal, where she was able to put the ball in the back of the net. Segreto would later score in the 84th minute of play when the ball rebounded off of the goalkeeper, allowing her to place the ball in the back of the net.
Senior goalkeeper
Jacquelyn Mancini (Valley Stream, N.Y.) had three saves in the shut out. Lady Monarchs goalkeeper Jessica Natale recorded six saves in the loss.
The Knights outshot the Lady Monarchs, 23-6. The Knights also held a 5-0 edge for corner kicks on the night.
The Knights return to action on Friday, Oct. 11, when they travel to The College at Old Westbury for their next Skyline Contest. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
