NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's tennis team (1-7, 0-2 Skyline) was shut out by Skyline Conference opponent Farmingdale State College (6-2, 2-0 Skyline), 9-0, on Saturday on the Mount Saint Mary College Tennis Courts.

Senior Jaimee Lubniewski (Middletown, N.Y.) and junior Alissa Niad (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) played the closest match in doubles play, but ultimately fell, 8-5, to Farmingdale's Jessica Sickles and Priscilla Signore.

Senior Jillian Torre (Bohemia, N.Y.) played a very close match with Farmingdale's Michelle Fredericks, but she ended up dropping a close match, 7-5, 6-4. Sophomore Ellen Hendricks (West Point, N.Y.) also played well, but was defeated by Amanda Vecchio, 6-3, 6-3.

The Knights look to bounce back tomorrow, Oct. 6, when they host Yeshiva University in a Skyline match. The action is set to begin at 1 p.m. on the Mount Saint Mary College Tennis Courts.
