Robe’s Goal Leads Women’s Soccer to 1-0 Shutout of Purchase

Box Score

PURCHASE, N.Y. – Sophomore forward Shanice Robe (Valley Stream, N.Y.) provided the only goal of the game, as the Mount Saint Mary College women's soccer team (13-4-0, 7-0-0 Skyline) shut out Skyline Conference opponent Purchase College (5-10-0, 2-5-0 Skyline), 1-0, Tuesday evening.

Robe's 22nd goal of the year came in the 26th minute on a breakaway, giving the Knights the only goal they would need in Tuesday's victory. In just her second season, Robe now has 57 career goals, two short of Kelly Vail's program record of 59. Her 46 points this season put her at a career total of 120, eight shy of Vail's 128 career points.

Senior goalkeeper Jacquelyn Mancini (Valley Stream, N.Y.) earned her 12th win after holding the Panthers off the board for the entire first half. Sophomore goalkeeper Abigail McQuillen (Greenville, N.Y.) closed out the game without allowing a goal. Purchase's Jess Lindsay made 10 saves, but allowed the lone goal to shoulder the loss.

The Knights outshot the Panthers, 19-1, while putting 11 shots on goal to just one for Purchase. They also earned three corner kicks to Purchase's one.

The Knights host Farmingdale State College in their final Skyline contest of the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 26. Saturday is Senior Day for both the men's and women's soccer teams. Join both teams as they honor their seniors in their final regular-season home games. The women's game is set to kick off at 1 p.m. from Kaplan Field.
