Shanice Robe (Valley Stream, N.Y.) recorded her third multi-goal game in a row with a hat trick, as the Mount Saint Mary College women's soccer team (12-4-0, 6-0-0 Skyline) shut out Maritime College (10-8-0, 2-5-0 Skyline), 6-0, in Skyline Conference action on Friday. The Knights are yet to allow a goal in any of their six Skyline contests.
Robe improved her season total to 21 goals and 44 points with three goals in Friday's victory. She opened the scoring in the game with a score at the 16:34 mark off a through ball from junior midfielder
Vanessa DiSilvio (Massapequa, N.Y.). With a 4-0 lead at the half, Robe added two more goals within five minutes of each other in the second half to pick up her third hat trick of the season.
In the 25th minute, junior midfielder
Renee Schultz (Waldwick, N.J.) netted her first goal of the season to put the Knights up 2-0. Sophomore midfielder
Melissa Guillemette (Branford, Conn.) followed Schultz with a score just four minutes later to give the Knights a three-goal advantage. Freshman midfielder
Danielle Sedlacek (Highland, N.Y.) also got in on the action, giving the Knights a 4-0 edge in the 39th after beating a defender down the right wing.
Senior goalkeeper
Jacquelyn Mancini (Valley Stream, N.Y.) did not need to make a save in the first half to pick up the win, while sophomore goalkeeper
Abigail McQuillen (Greenville, N.Y.) closed out the game with a scoreless second half, making three saves in the process. Maritime's Kristen Hoar allowed six goal to suffer the loss, but made an impressive 21 saves on the evening.
The Knights held a 43-8 shot advantage in Friday's win. They also earned eight corner kicks to just two for the Privateers.
The Knights get back to work on Tuesday, Oct. 22, when they travel to Purchase College for their second-to-last Skyline Conference regular season matchup of the 2013 campaign. The action is set to kick off at 7 p.m.
