PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – Junior
Rachel Perrone (Poughquag, N.Y.) totaled 22 points and 10 rebounds as Mount Saint Mary College ran its winning streak to six with a 64-43 victory over St. Joseph's College in Skyline Conference action Thursday night. The Knights move to 11-7 (8-1 Skyline) with the win, while the Golden Eagles fall to 10-9 (4-4 Skyline).
Mount Saint Mary opened on an 8-0 run capped by three consecutive buckets from Perrone. A bit later in the half, however, St. Joseph's answered with an 8-0 run of its own and a three-pointer from junior Laura Cohen (Smithtown, N.Y.) at the 8:50 mark gave the Golden Eagles a one-point edge (13-12).

Charneice McCullough (Wyandanch, N.Y.) drained a three-pointer to spark a 13-3 run to close the half. A jumper from sophomore
Natalie Candarelli (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) at the 1:04 mark sent the Knights to the locker room with a 31-21 lead.
The Golden Eagles would close to within seven on a half-opening three from Cohen, but would get no closer. The Knights answered with a 13-0 run, capped by back-to-back buckets from Perrone, to lead 44-24 with 11:19 remaining. St. Joseph's wouldn't threaten again and the Mount eased to a 21-point victory.
Perrone connected on 11-of-14 from the field for her game-high 22 points. McCullough made each of her three attempts from long range and also hit a pair of free throws to finish with 11 points, while Candarelli also reached double figures with 10 points. The Knights shot 43.9-percent from the floor as a team.
Cohen led the Golden Eagles with 15 points, six rebounds, and four assists. St. Joseph's shot 36.2-percent for the game and committed 21 turnovers.
Mount Saint Mary takes its six-game winning streak on the road to NYU-Poly this Saturday. The game is slated for a noon start in Brooklyn.
