ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - Mount Saint Mary College remained unbeaten with a 6-3 victory over Bard College on Wednesday evening. The Knights move to 4-0 on the year, while the Raptors go to 3-1.
The freshmen continued their strong start to the season, as
Morgan Holbrook (Montgomery, N.Y.) and
Ashlynne O'Brien (Washingtonville, N.Y.) rolled to an 8-1 win at second doubles. Bard took the the point at third doubles, but senior
Gabriela Murphy-Goldberg (Newburgh, N.Y.) and junior
Jaimee Lubniewski (Middletown, N.Y.) gave the Knights the advantage with an 8-2 win in the first position.
Murphy-Goldberg pieced together a convincing 6-2, 6-0 win at the top of the singles lineup, while Holbrook was equally strong in a 6-1, 6-1 win at second. O'Brien nailed down a 6-2, 6-3 victory at fourth singles and junior
Jill Saydlowski (Milford, Conn.) rallied for a three-set win at fifth (4-6, 6-3, 6-4).
The Knights will take their perfect record on the road to Baptist Bible College on Monday. The match is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start at the Birchwood Tennis Club in South Abington Township, Pennsylvania.
