NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Mount Saint Mary College freshman
Shanice Robe (Valley Stream, N.Y.) scored twice on Wednesday as the women's soccer team defeated Bard College, 3-1. The Knights pick up their third win of the season and move to 3-2 overall.
Robe, who now has an impressive seven goals through the team's first five games, opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 22nd minute. After collecting the ball at the top of the box, Robe snuck away from a pair of defenders and found an opening inside the left post. The rookie doubled the Mount's advantage when she finished off a feed from freshman
Melissa Maini (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) in the 33rd minute of play. Just 20 seconds later, freshman
Casey Collins (Belle Harbor, N.Y.) found the back of the net following a long ball up the right side from sophomore

Bard rounded out the scoring for the first half of play as Sylvia Estes (Ithaca, N.Y.) put away the only goal of the game for the Raptors as they entered the half trailing 3-1.

Abigail McQuillen (Greenville, N.Y.) pitched a second half shutout for the Knights, making one save while preserving the 3-1 advantage. Junior keeper
Jacquelyn Mancini (Valley Stream, N.Y.) made the start for the Knights, but was lifted when her team took a three-goal advantage.
The Knights return to action this Saturday with a trip to Albany College of Pharmacy. The game is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in Albany.
