Box Score TROY, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's basketball team posted a 78-43 decision over The Sage Colleges in a Skyline Conference contest on Wednesday night. The Knights extend their record to 17-3 overall and 8-1 in Skyline play. The Sage Gators drop to 8-12 on the season and 4-6 in conference play.
The Knights used a 14-0 run to open up the game and gave themselves a 27-9 cushion at the 6:34 mark. Back to back three pointers by junior
Charneice McCullough (Wyandanch, N.Y.) and senior
Amanda Horvers (Kingston, N.Y.) capped the run for the Mount. In the final six minutes of the half, Sage senior Sarah Carciobolo (Niskayuna, N.Y.) and freshman Nicole Lanteri (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) combined for ten points to make it 32-19 at the end of one.
A three pointer by sophomore Chelsea Martin (Davenport, N.Y.) cut the Mount's lead to seven (35-28) with 15:40 remaining in the game. The Knights responded with a 7-0 run to push themselves back up 14, 44-30. Shooting 47.4-percent from the field in the second half, the Knights cruised through the final thirteen minutes to a 35-point win.

Jen Mocanu (Belford, N.J.) and junior
Becky Metzger (Point Pleasant, N.Y.) added a game-high 16 points each. Horvers also reached double-digit scoring with 13 points. Junior
Kate Hartnett (Floral Park, N.Y.) led the Knights on the glass, grabbing a team-high 10 boards.
Carciobolo led the Gators with 15 points, while Martin chipped in with seven points and nine rebounds.
The Mount returns to action on Saturday, February 4 as they play host to SUNY College at Old Westbury in a critical Skyline contest. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m., with a men's game to follow.
