Box Score

BOSTON, Mass. - In the Emerson College Tip-Off Tournament Championship Game, the host was victorious, as Emerson College posted a 54-43 decision over the Knights. After their first weekend of competition the Mount is 1-1 on the season, while Emerson improves to 2-0.

Cold shooting plagued the Knights in the first half, as they shot just 23 percent from from the floor. A lay up by Emerson College Janissa Delzo () at the 3:41 mark gave the Lions an 18 point lead, their largest of the day. Delzo's lay up were the Lions last points of the half and led by senior Rachel Perrone's (Poughquag, N.Y.) four points the Knights closed out the first on a 7-0 run.

Trailing by 13 and with less than ten minutes to go Mount sophomore Amanda Smith (Dayton, Ohio) and senior Becky Metzger (Point Pleasant, N.J.) scored back to back baskets to pull the Knights within nine, 45-36. Emerson responded with back to back baskets of their own and the game remained just out of reach in the closing minutes.

Smith led all scorers 17 points, in addition to grabbing six rebounds. Perrone was the only other Knight to reach double digits with 12 points.

Emerson senior Amy Sherman (Toronto, Ontario) led the Lions with 12 points, while sophomore Kristin Brice (Indiana, Penn.) just missed a double-double with eight points and nine boards.

The Knights will host Western Connecticut State on Tuesday, November 20 in their home opener. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
