NEWBURGH, N.Y. - Mount Saint Mary College won its fourth straight game and remained unbeaten in Skyline Conference play with an 11-0 victory over Maritime College on Tuesday evening. The Knights improve to 10-2-1 overall (5-0-0 Skyline), while the Privateers fall to 0-14-0 (0-6-0 Skyline).
Sophomore
Meghan Moran (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) got the Knights off to a strong start, tallying three of the team's first four goals. Her first goal, in the 2nd minute, followed a long feed through the middle from freshman
Courtney McCarthy (Lindenhurst, N.Y.).
From there, freshman
Nastassja Rowe (Monroe, N.Y.) took over, scoring the team's next three goals. Her second of the night was a header goal on a corner kick from senior
Lindsey Oro (Holtsville, N.Y.).
Freshman
Shanice Robe (Valley Stream, N.Y.) became the third player to complete a hat trick when she scored in the 84th minute. Robe also scored on a penalty kick in the 25th minute and on an assist from freshman
Melissa Maini (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) in the 27th minute.
Sophomores
Kim Castro (Vernon, N.J.) and
Vanessa DiSilvio (Massapequa, N.Y.) also found the back of the net for the Knights.
Mount Saint Mary hosts a pair of games this weekend. They'll take on Purchase in a Skyline game on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and Denison University in a non-conference game on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
