Jen Mocanu (Belford, N.J.) and
Amanda Horvers (Kingston, N.Y.) combined for 43 points as they led the Knights in a 71-38 victory over the College of Mount Saint Vincent in a Skyline Conference match-up. The Knights advance to 12-2 on the season and 5-0 in Skyline play, while the Dolphins drop their fourth straight game to fall to 3-8 overall.

Charneice McCullough (Wyandanch, N.Y.) at the 15:12 mark pushed the Knights ahead by nine, 11-2, but Mount Saint Vincent sophomore Tanisha Montague (Brooklyn, N.Y.) sunk a pair of free throws to cut the lead back to three (11-8) with just over 13 minutes to go in the first.
Horvers and sophomore
Rachel Perrone (Poughquag, N.Y.) combined for 22 of the Mount's 24 points in the closing ten minutes of the half, as the Knights used strong shooting to build a 15 point cushion, 40-25, at the half. Horvers was 3-3 from behind the three-point arc and the Knights shot a blazing 56.7-percent from the field.
Mocanu added 13 of her 26 points in the opening ten minutes of the second stanza and with 10:53 remaining on the clock the Knights possessed a 60-25 lead. Cold shooting and turnovers plagued the Knights in the final ten minutes of the game and they Knights were scoreless for an eight minute span. On three occasions the Dolphins would cut the deficit to 30, but this was as close as they would get and the Knights captured a 71-38 win.
Mocanu led all scorers with 26 points, while Horvers added 17. Perrone also reached double digits with 10 points and a team-high six rebounds.
Mount Saint Vincent senior Kara McNish (Hawthorne, N.J.) scored a team-high 10 points in addition to grabbing nine rebounds. Teammate Brittany Griffin (Suffern, N.Y.) also collected nine rebounds and chipped in with six points.
The Knights will return to action next Tuesday as they travel to Purchase College for a Skyline Conference contest. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
