POMONA, N.J. – Junior
Mary Ann Raftery (Long Beach, N.Y.) recorded a team-high 10 kills, but the Mount Saint Mary College women's volleyball team fell in three close sets (20-25, 21-25, 23-25) to Stockton College on Sunday afternoon. The Knights drop to 0-5 on the year, while the Ospreys bump up to 5-2.
Raftery finished with 10 kills on 22 attempts and also tied for the team-high with six digs. Seniors
Courtney Kenney (Hicksville, N.Y.) and
Teresa Sorrentino (Bellerose, N.Y.) each tallied five kills, while junior
Lauren Halverson (Patchogue, N.Y.) totaled 27 assists.
The schedule won't get any easier for the Knights, as they'll head to the fiercely competitive New Paltz Hawk Invite on Friday, September 16. The Mount opens against New Paltz at 6:00 p.m. before taking on Johnson & Wales at 8:00 p.m.
