MAHWAH, N.J. – Despite a pair of wins from junior
Gabriela Murphy-Goldberg (Newburgh, N.Y.), the Mount Saint Mary College women's tennis team opened their season with a 6-3 loss to Ramapo College on Friday evening. The Roadrunners improved to 2-1 on the year.
Murphy-Goldberg paired with senior Annie Llewellyn (Brookhaven, N.Y.) to give the Knights their only doubles win, an 8-3 triumph in the number one spot. Murphy-Goldberg would also cruise to a victory at first singles, downing her opponent by a score of 6-0, 6-2.
Mount junior
Jen Gregory (Albertson, N.Y.) provided the third point for the Knights, emerging with a 6-4, 7-6 win at fourth singles.
The Knights will host Marywood University on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. on the Mount Saint Mary tennis courts.
