DALLAS, Pa. – Misericordia University raced out to a 6-1 lead and never looked back in defeating Mount Saint Mary College by a score of 19-3 in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon. The Cougars improved to 3-1 on the year, while the Knights dropped to 1-5.
It was a promising start for the Mount once again, as sophomore #
Andrew Pullen# (Farmingdale, N.Y.) scored on a feed from freshman #
Matt O'Donnell# (Wallkill, N.Y.) just four minutes in to tie the game at 1-1. The Cougars would score the next six goals, however, to take control of the contest. O'Donnell broke up the run on a feed from Pullen at 7:10 of the second quarter, but the Cougars scored to close the half with an 8-2 advantage.
Freshman #
Matt Buonocore opened the second half scoring to bring the Knights to within five, but it would be as close as they would get. Misericordia scored the final 11 goals of the game for the 19-3 victory.
Freshman goalie #
Shawn Cobstill# (Oneonta, N.Y.) finished with 14 saves for the Mount.
Up next for the Knights is a home date with Green Mountain College. The game is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
