Mount Rolls Past Purchase in Skyline Opener

Box Score NEWBURGH, N.Y. – A nice all-around effort lead the Mount Saint Mary College women's basketball team past Purchase College, 59-38. The Knights won their fourth game in a row to move to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in the conference. The Panthers fall to an even 3-3 on the season and 0-1 in Skyline play.

Although the Panthers netted the first two buckets of the game, a jumper by Mount senior Amanda Horvers

Mount senior Jen Mocanu (Belford, N.Y.) banked in a layup with four minute elapsed in the second half to extend their lead to 27, 41-14. The Knights used runs of 6-0 and 5-0 to put the Panthers away. Fifteen of the Mount's 25 second half points came from the bench.
