THROGGS NECK, N.Y. - For its seventh consecutive victory, the Mount Saint Mary College women's volleyball team defeated Maritime in straight sets (25-11, 25-11, 25-18) on Monday evening. The Skyline Conference victory pushed the Knights to 11-9 overall and to 6-0 in league play.
Senior
Teresa Sorrentino (Bellerose, N.Y.) and junior
Mary Ann Raftery (Long Beach, N.Y.) each finished with a match-high eight kills. Senior
Meagan Lewis-Bie (Rocky Point, N.Y.) added six kills on just eight attempts. Junior
Lauren Halverson (Patchogue, N.Y.) tallied 18 assists in just two sets of work, while freshman
Samantha Sagendorph (Bellmore, N.Y.) had 12 assists in the final set. Senior
Heather Schaeffer (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) was the only Knights to record double-digit digs with 10.
A light week for the Knights, the team will head to Salem State for their next scheduled match on Saturday.
