NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Behind a career-high 18 points from freshman
Kate Hartnett (Floral Park, N.Y.), the Mount Saint Mary College women's basketball team rolled to a 79-16 victory over Bard College on Tuesday evening. The Blue Knights ran their record to 17-4 overall and to 13-1 in the Skyline, while Bard tumbled to 4-16 overall (2-13 conference).
Mount Saint Mary limited Bard to just two field goals in the first half and led 38-6 at the break. It didn't get much better in the second half, as the Raptors shot 5-for-29 from the field and scored just 10 points.
Meanwhile, the Blue Knights lit it up at the other end of the floor. Mount Saint Mary shot 52-percent in the first half and 72-percent in the second half to finish at 61-percent for the contest. All twelve players to get in the game recorded at least a point.
Hartnett was 8-of-9 from the field and totaled a game-high 18 points. Senior
Catie Biordi (Beacon, N.Y.) and sophomore Bethany Deer (Guilderland, N.Y.) also reached double figures for the Mount with 10 points each. Freshman
Charnelle Saint-Laurent (Dix Hills, N.Y.) dished out a game-high 6 assists.
Up next for the Mount is NYU-Poly. They'll host the Fighting Blue Jays on Thursday, starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Kaplan Center.
