ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – In a matchup of the two undefeated teams in the Skyline Conference, the Mount Saint Mary College women's tennis team defeated Bard College last night, 5-4, to take over sole possession of first place. The Knights have now won five matches in a row to improve to 8-2 overall.
With the match tied at 4-4 and the fifth singles match as the only remaining point on the table, sophomore

Also coming through with singles wins were sophomores
Gabriela Murphy-Goldberg (Newburgh, N.Y.) and
Jen Gregory (Albertson, N.Y.). Murphy-Goldberg eased to a 6-3, 6-0 triumph at first singles, while Gregory held off her opponent for a 6-2, 6-3 victory at sixth singles.
The Knights put themselves in a strong position by taking two of the three doubles points to kick off the match. Murphy-Goldberg teamed with junior Annie Llewellyn (Brookhaven, N.Y.) for an 8-3 win at first doubles, while Emily and
Jen Gregory earned an 8-2 decision at third doubles.
Mount Saint Mary can clinch the top seed in the Skyline Conference tournament with a victory over Purchase College on Saturday. The Knights will host the Panthers at 1:00 p.m. in Newburgh.
