Mount Stifled by Bard

NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary women's soccer team fell to Bard College, 2-0, at home Thursday in a Skyline Conference contest. The Knights are now 4-4 in the conference and 8-9 overall, while the Raptors improved to 6-2 in the conference and 7-7 overall.

Both Raptor goals were scored by freshman Brianna Bean (Kaneohe, Hawaii). Her first goal came in the thirty-third minute of play when she fired a shot over the head of Mount senior goalkeeper Megan Cotta (Brick, N.J.). Her next goal came as she followed up on her own rebound in the sixty-third minute.

The Raptor defense played well for the greater portion of the evening, yielding the Knights just two shots on goal. Junior Erin McKeon (Watertown, Conn.) and junior Colleen Cappadora (Brooklyn, N.Y.) recorded the only attempts on Bard freshman goalkeeper Amy Strawbridge (Indianapolis, Ind.).

Cotta finished with 10 saves for the Knights.

The Mount will seek to bring home a conference win on Sunday, October 24 at 12:00 p.m. against Yeshiva. It will be the last regular season home game for the Knights.
