FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Farmingdale senior Kimberly Blakney (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored 29 points to lead the Rams to a 72-57 victory over Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday. The Rams remained perfect on the season (13-0, 8-0 Skyline), while the Blue Knights picked up their first conference loss and dropped to 11-4 overall.
With her team trailing 43-40 and twelve minutes remaining in the game, Blakney conducted a 14-2 run for the Rams. The senior scored eight points during the four-minute stretch and her three-pointer with 8:26 on the clock made the score 54-45.
Mount Saint Mary sophomore
Rachel Russo (Trumbull, Conn.) finally broke up the run with 1-of-2 free throws, but Farmingdale continued to pull away. Senior Kamaya Miller (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored the next five points, connecting on a triple and a bucket from inside the paint, to push the Rams advantage to 13. The Blue Knights wouldn't get closer than ten for the rest of the way.
Blakney shot 10-of-23 from the floor and finished with a game-high 29 points. She filled out the rest of the stat sheet with 10 rebounds, 5 steals, 4 blocks, and an assist. Miller totaled 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting and also tallied 9 rebounds and 6 steals.

The Blue Knights took a beating on the glass and were outrebounded, 45-34. The Rams finished the afternoon with 20 offensive rebounds. Mount Saint Mary also committed a season-high 31 turnovers in the face of the Farmingdale pressure.
Saddled with their first conference loss of the season, Mount Saint Mary will return to action on Thursday, January 21 when they'll travel to Purchase College. The tip with the Panthers is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
