PATCHOGUE, NY – During a Skyline Conference play date on Saturday, the Mount Saint Mary College women's volleyball team lost to St. Joseph's College in straight sets before rebounding to defeat SUNY College at Old Westbury in four sets. The Blue Knights now stand at 6-8 overall and at 2-1 in the Skyline Conference.
In the opening match, St. Joseph's College defeated the Mount, 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-21). Sophomore
Teresa Sorrentino (Bellerose, N.Y.) notched 9 kills and 19 digs while sophomore
Courtney Kenney (Hicksville, N.Y.) tallied 8 kills.
Against Old Westbury, the Blue Knights took the match, 3-1 (25-21, 24-26, 25-19, 26-24). Kenney led the way with 14 kills and 3 aces. Junior
Elizabeth Douress (Rahway, N.J.) racked up 7 kills and 3 blocks and senior setter
Katie Toole (Wallkill, N.Y.) finished with 28 assists.
Up next for Mount Saint Mary College is a road trip to Bard College. The Blue Knights will take on the Raptors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30.
