SCRANTON, PA – Following up on a five-set victory over the Pacers earlier in the season, the Mount Saint Mary College women's volleyball team defeated Marywood University on Tuesday evening, this time in four sets. The Blue Knights improved to 3-5 on the season, while the Pacers dropped to 2-8.
Mount Saint Mary took the first set, 25-20, before dropping the second set, 25-15. The Blue Knights responded well, however, and captured the next two sets (25-18 and 25-14).
Sophomore
Courtney Kenney (Hicksville, N.Y.) posted a match-high 11 kills and also totaled 10 digs. Sophomore
Teresa Sorrentino (Bellerose, N.Y.) had 9 kills against only 2 errors to go along with 12 digs. Senior
Katie Toole (Wallkill, N.Y.) contributed 24 assists and 16 digs.
The Blue Knights will travel to the New Paltz tournament this weekend. They'll take on Rutgers-Newark and Johnson & Wales on Friday and then New Jersey City and Johns Hopkins on Saturday.
