NEWBURGH, NY – The Mount Saint Mary College women's volleyball team lost both matches in straight sets on Saturday afternoon, falling to William Paterson (25-21, 25-19, 25-15) and Manhattanville (25-23, 25-17, 25-20). The Blue Knights dropped to 2-5 on the season.
In the first match, sophomore
Courtney Kenney (Hicksville, N.Y.) led the team with 9 kills and also contributed 11 digs. Sophomore
Heather Schaeffer (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) posted a team-high 15 digs, while senior
Katie Toole (Wallkill, N.Y.) totaled 20 assists, 4 aces, and a block.
Against Manhattanville, Kenney racked up 17 kills while hitting .297. Sophomore
Teresa Sorrentino (Bellerose, N.Y.) had 6 kills and 14 digs.
Up next for Mount Saint Mary is a trip to Marywood University. The Blue Knights defeated Marywood in five sets earlier this season, so it should be another close battle. The match is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15.
