BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Taking on top-seeded Polytechnic Institute of NYU in the Skyline Conference semifinals, the Mount Saint Mary College women's volleyball team lost in three sets (25-14, 25-17, 25-17) and were eliminated from the tournament. The Blue Knights are now 18-15 and will await a potential selection to the ECAC Tournament.
NYU-Poly junior Meredith Shipman (Sugarland, Texas) led all players with 14 kills. Sophomore teammate Victoria Kalvert (Missouri City, Texas) racked up 10 kills to go along with 9 digs and 3 blocks.
For the Mount, freshman
Mary Ann Raftery (Long Beach, N.Y.) led the way with 11 kills and 7 digs. Sophomore
Teresa Sorrentino (Bellerose, N.Y.) finished with 7 kills and 8 digs while senior
Katie Toole (Wallkill, N.Y.) tallied 14 assists. Freshman
Lauren Halverson (Patchogue, N.Y.) filled out the scoresheet with 3 kills, 5 assists, and 9 digs.
NYU-Poly advances to play Sage in the championship match at 4:00 p.m. The Blue Knights will learn of a potential ECAC selection on Monday.
