NEW YORK, NY – The Mount Saint Mary College women's soccer team clinched the fourth seed in the Skyline Conference tournament with a 5-0 victory over Yeshiva University on Sunday afternoon. The Blue Knights finish the regular season at 9-7-2 overall and at 5-2-2 within the Skyline Conference.
Sophomore
Debbie Carroll (Bellmore, N.Y.) opened the scoring in the 2nd minute and then added another tally in the 64th minute. Freshmen
Brittany Shamro (Pine Bush, N.Y.) and
Kelly Candelet (Mystic, Conn.) added first half goals and senior
Danielle Bucco (Washingtonville, N.Y.) closed out the scoring with a goal in the 90th minute.
Mount Saint Mary dominated the possession and outshot the Macs, 33-1. A duo of Yeshiva goalkeepers combined to make 15 saves. Freshman
Casey Roland (Bethpage, N.Y.) and senior
Lauren Dorsa (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) combined on the shutout for the Blue Knights.
As the fourth seed in the Skyline Conference tournament, Mount Saint Mary will host the Sage Colleges on Tuesday, November 3. The game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Kaplan Field.
